Douglas Fir Bark 'coarse'

This is heat treated & sifter douglas fir bark, much larger than the 'fine' mix we also offer.  We like to use it in our nepenthes, larger orchids, anthuriums.  They seem to respond really well to this size.  We make sure to add extra nitrogen to our media after about 6 months when the bark starts to decompose.  We don't personally do any witch doctor kinda stuff like coffee grinds and tea bags; we just stick to simply stepping up our 'cal-mag' or if our soil ph is a little high we can top dress with 'blood meal'.

** we advise researching your plants before just adding additives.  In some cases in can be a game changer; others can quickly turn a plant from good to dead in a realitivly short amount of time.
